DIVERSITY VALUE STATEMENT

We strive to model and promote diversity and inclusion as a means to strengthen leadership.

We do this by:

  • respecting and encouraging all perspectives
  • engaging diverse populations in all activities

Program Objectives

The Junior Leadership Macomb Program is designed to:

  • Create opportunities for students to realize their leadership potential
  • Expose students to the systems that make up a County (Health Care, Environment, Arts, etc.)
  • Provide access to a network of professionals and job sharing opportunities
  • Foster a commitment to community involvement

Application Guidelines

Applications are being accepted by Leadership Macomb for Junior Leadership Macomb VI. Junior Leadership Macomb is a unique civic leadership experience for high school juniors. We strive to create a diverse cohort of approximately 40 students from schools throughout Macomb County. Interested students must complete the application below or download the pdf version and follow all instructions. In addition to the application, students must also submit a completed Reference Form and signed Parent & Student Agreement.

Tuition and Financial Assistance

Upon a student’s acceptance into the program, parents/guardians will be billed a non-refundable program fee of $100 which is payable in full by May 5, 2019. Payment plans are available upon request, and scholarships that cover the entire fee amount are available for individuals who demonstrate a need. Financial status will not be a factor in determining eligibility and assistance will only be offered upon acceptance into the program. Any student that would like to be considered for a scholarship must complete the corresponding section of this application. For additional information regarding scholarships and payment plans, please contact Diane Banks at 586.954.2788.

Eligibility

Students entering their junior year in a Macomb County high school (public, private or homeschool) in the fall of 2018 are eligible to apply. Students will be selected for participation based on personal goals, personal assessment, personal/life achievements (including work experiences, community service, faith-based service, etc.), academic achievements, and personal references.
