Who we are

A Community Built on Leadership & Purpose

Founded in 1996, Leadership Macomb is the premier platform for connecting diverse leaders across Macomb County. We foster a deep understanding of the vital systems that shape our region-from its hidden assets to the complex issues we face today.

What began as a single flagship program has evolved into a powerhouse network of over 1,750 alumni representing more than 275 organizations. Our mission is simple: to create a connected, informed community of leaders who collaborate to strengthen organizational relationships and drive positive regional change.

Why WE Matter

We have a long, strong and highly respected reputation of being a conduit for community growth. Our graduates emerge not just as informed citizens, but as active contributors eager to make a lasting difference in their workplaces and communities. Leadership Macomb has exceeded my expectations in every way. The chance to connect with other leaders in Macomb County has been incredibly valuable. The high-quality presentations, exposure to various programs and facilities, and the outstanding Leadership Macomb staff have given me a comprehensive understanding of what our county offers.

Leadership Macomb has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career in public service. With 25 years as a public servant I thought I had a good handle on the ins and outs of government, but there was so much more I learned through the backstage pass that LM offered. The topics were extremely intriguing each month, and the connections and friendships made through this program are unmatched!

Leadership Macomb has been a wonderful program to be a part of which allowed for learning about multiple facets of the County, connecting with other leaders in various industries, and to experience once in a lifetime events. I will be forever thankful for being a part of this program and will apply various learnings as I continue my leadership journey.
